Chief Mrs Toyin Jaiye-Daramola Receives EPRA 2019 Honorary Lifetime Achievement in Broadcasting

Chief Mrs Toyin Jaiye-Daramola Received EPRA, Leadership and Entrepreneurial Award 2019 Lifetime Achievement in Broadcasting presented presented by Her Worshipful the Mayor London Borough of Enfield Cllr. Kate Anolue.  

Chief Mrs Toyin Jaiye-Daramola is a seasoned Broadcaster and Television Producer/Presenter.

An eloquent speaker, confident and articulate, hence she anchor/compere events, be it weddings, birthdays, conferences, award ceremonies etc. Her sonorous voice as well as the command of the language both English and Yoruba endears her to her audience.

Toyin started her Broadcasting career in 1976 as a Studio Manager with the Nigerian Broadcasting Corporation – NBC (now Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria – FRCN). She later moved to Radio Lagos in 1977 as a program presenter.  She was one of the pioneer staff at Radio Lagos Ikeja and the originator and first presenter of that popular programme ‘ORE MI’ – A chit chat programme which focused on societal ills. She joined the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA Abeokuta) in 1979 as a pioneer staff and the first Continuity Announcer to be employed by the station. And later became programme Presenter/ Newscaster at the TV station.

In the 90’s she established her own company Toyin Adeyi & Associates. A Management/Public Relations Outfit where she held various trainings and workshops for Local Government Personnel in both Ogun and Oyo States of Nigeria.

She was the former Chief Executive of Toblash Media Ltd; a television production outfit based in the UK and host a TV Talk Show ‘Mama Tee Special’ – a half hour programme that weekly captures insight as well as portrays the life, career, struggles, challenges and experiences of the guest who occupies a leadership position in any area of endeavor.

Otunba Jaiye-Daramola embraced his half with lots of love.

She studied Dramatic Arts at the then University of Ife now Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife. Osun State Nigeria. Because of her quest to acquire more knowledge, Toyin proceeded to the University of East London (UEL) in 2014 at the age of 57 to study Law. She obtained her LLB Hons degree in Law at the age of 60 with a Second Class Upper Division (2:1).

A recipient of many awards, she got the Best Narrator Award for a Docu- Drama at the Nigerian television Authority during Telefest in a documentary titled ‘ Empress without Kingdom’ in 1988. Cultural Ambassador Award by FORAA Awards in 2013. Best Nigerian UK Events MC/Compere awards in 2013 and many more. She is currently a freelance Broadcaster and Broadcast Consultant in the UK. Toyin Jaiye-Daramola is married to Otunba Jaiyeola Daramola and blessed with children.
